- I am retired from mining research. My wife and I have been living in a Winnebago motorhome since November 2004. Until the spring of 2009 we also traveled with my wife's mother, and a cat. In 2009 our cat died at 19 years of age. That same year we have had to move my wife's mother into an assisted living home where she lived till January of 2011 when she also died at nearly 89. As of this year we have been in 38 states and plan to see 48. We have spent the last five winters in Mission, Texas and have plans to winter there again.
